Review MASTERS OF HORROR: PANIC ON THE MOUNTAIN

Review Masters of Horror: panico sulla montagna

Regia di Don Coscarelli con Bree Turner, Ethan Embry, Angus Scrimm

Recensione a cura di Starla84 (voto: 6,5)

" Incident On and Off a Mountain Road " ( Panico sulla montagna è il titolo italiano) è il primo episodio della serie televisiva dedicata all'horror e ai suoi maestri, Masters of Horror appunto, ideata da Mick Garris.
Diretto e scritto da Don Coscarelli, regista di " Bubba Ho-Tep ", " Phantasm " e i suoi sequel, " Panico sulla montagna " è tratto from a short story by Joe Lansdale, and aired in the U.S. for the first time on October 28, 2005 Showtime channel and 1 July 2007 in Italy on Sky .

" Incident On and Off a Mountain Road " has a circular building, marked by a series of flashbacks, presumably of the recent past, all of which start with a black frame to which is the background sound of the voice of the husband protagonist who dispenses advice, and maximum sentences, all generated by a closed-minded and sociofobica. It seems to see two films opposite gender, two universes contingent will join only in the finale: what kind of flashback is dramatic and sentimental but that which takes place in this horror is certainly diegetic. Jump back in the director helps us to accomplish, look at the protagonist at various stages of her love life, we see her first date with a man, then the pair is formed, then it is consolidated and in the end we see the destruction of the couple itself. In this horror diegetic we become aware of the monster, we see a succession of pursuit of women by the maniac, then the women's struggle for its very survival, and when there seems to be no hope, the situation is completely reversed.
